Getting the balls deep into the box is definitely a skill alongside fast penetration from the rear.

Superb European campaign so far, can't wait for the knock out stages.

I thought Coufal looked like he was getting back to his best last night. For me he starts ahead of Johnson after reminding me how much better his balls are into the box.

But you don't know what you are banging on about, do you. You talk bollocks every week, Mex, old son.

Moyes gets it right again!
I was concerned with the team selection, but they did fine, Vienna were not that great.

Mike could you tell Noble to look at the camera when interviewed?

Ref this last game I'm wondering if there are any types of rules or even moral issues if you put a seriously weak side out? Point being Genk can still finish above Zagreb if we beat them. Moyes said after the game last night that he wants to win the last game, so let's see. He also hinted he will go stronger in the last 16 round, which for me should be a no brainer anyway.

Be nice if Moyes started Chesters and perking in theatre European game.

If we've got a decent enough young centre back them put him at the back under damsons eye and let's enjoy giving some of our young lads a chance to play and get some first team minutes.

Even give them half a game and switch them for another 3 at half time.

I love what we're doing as a club and would love to see more of these youngsters.

Good, sold performance against a piss poor outfit and a bonus we can rest up for the dead rubber.

Good to see the Arthur bullies get shut up on here.

Bowen showed once again he is an awful finisher and cannot play up top. We need TWO forwards in January. Sign one and he gets injured it's back to square one again. An absurd situation that badly needs sorting in Jan.

1964 - West Ham in the last 16 of Europe in 41 years, it would be fucking absurd to go anything but full strength..

Still can't get over the fact we are very much NOT the West Ham I have known for so long. Left most of our best players out and still looked a class about Rapid. I hope this continues.

IMHO Dawson edges it simply because he puts his body on the line. Diop has youth on his side, is better with the ball ( passing ) but still lacks the intensity, and put his body on the line in challenges. I was hoping Moyes and team could coach him to realise that he needs to be stronger in the challenge, to dominate etc. He is decent enough technically and superior in that sense to Dawson but still lacks the competitiveness etc. needed week in week out for the Prem. Too much of "giraffe in the headlights" at times :-(

Perhaps Zouma can help him, talk to him in games but I think we need to get someone else in. I liked the rumour ( thats all it was speculative rumour) about getting Rudiger. Would cost a lot in wages etc. and he might want to join a CL club only but on the other hand might like to be playing every week ( which he would I suspect ) and at a club where one of his old team mates is and one he sees as developing nicely.

A comfortable victory, without stressing ourselves, or running around too much. It could/should have been 4.
I thought Arthur and Yarmo gave the ball away a lot, but Rapin Wien weren’t up to much. It will get a lot tougher in March.
